What is HTML5?

HTML5 is the new version of the language of the web. New additions include the "canvas" element, and better media support. This makes it perfect for creating web games.

Why HTML5?

Currently most web games use Flash, a proprietary technology made by Adobe. This is not ideal. Firstly, Adobe owns the technology, and could stop developing it at any time, without obligation. Ideally, one company should not hold all the power. Secondly Flash is not supported on platforms such as the iPhone, where HTML5 is supported. Lastly, HTML5 is built into your browser, so there is no need to download and install a plugin like you do with Flash.

How do I play?

If you are using the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera, then you are ready to play! Please note, HTML5 is still in development, and different browsers have different levels of support. If a game does not work in your browser, please make sure you are using the latest version, or try another browser.
